About

I’m Tom Baker and I work in the advocacy department of a large international development charity.

For the last 8 years I’ve been paid to do something I love and have had a (often small) part to play in a number of campaigns that may have come to an inbox/letterbox/street near you. Before that I was active in student campaigning and sometimes wish I still was!

Why am I doing this? For too long I’ve bored my colleagues with long e-mails reflecting on something I’ve read, seen or heard. This blog is my way of cutting down on all these e-mails!

I’m also passionate about building the effectiveness of campaigns, and I hope this blog might become a space to help that conversation. I’m also very happy to come and speak on any of the campaigning topics covered in this blog.

This is my personal blog and the opinions expressed are my own and don’t represent the views of any organisations I’m involved with.
